Ally To Watch: Brandy Jones Design


Brandy Jones is a graphic designer and photographer living in Miami, Florida.  She joined the Creative Allies design community in 2013 and has since submitted some amazing designs.  Whether for bands, televisions shows, corporate branding, or sports, Brandy’s creativity shines through with almost 100 original designs contributed to our campaigns.  See some of her work below:

Most recently, Brandy’s CP3 Rising Star design was selected by Chris Paul himself as the winner of the of the CP3 Family Collection design campaign.  Her design is being sold exclusively by CafePress on their Bigger than Basketball fan design portal.

We sat down with Brandy to learn a bit more about this creative rock star.

Why are you a designer?

I love to create and I love video games since I’m a huge video gamer Ive always been drawn to the animation and the many looks of different characters.

How did you get started?

When I was a little girl drawing my first picture with a pencil and paper and knew this is what I loved. I used to draw everything I see and even things out of my head.

What do you like best about being part of the Creative Allies community?

There are so many opportunities to showcase your art and very fun contests.

Tell us about a previous design contest win and how you felt?

I won the Chris Paul CP3 contest and it was AWESOME! I was very excited that my artwork was chosen. My friends and family were proud of me, I was proud of myself.

How do you start your process for working on a piece?

I usually brain storm and sketch out what I have in mind and also Music is a big part of my desiging I put on a favorite song and go from there.

What kind of contests would you be really excited to see?

It’s a hard one since there has been a Game Of Thrones  and Zombie contest which are my favorite, but I would be excited to see a Video Game theme maybe sine I’m a huge gamer.

What does it mean to be creative?

Thinking outside the box and designing things out of the norm

Tell us about your design style. Where do you pull your inspiration?

My style is Anime , Cartoon, and Portraits but I like to try everything and push myself to elevate my skills. I also get inspiration from Music especially Indie music it takes me into another world and Im able to think and create.

What are some of your favorite design tools?

I love Photoshop and Illustrator Since i do not have illustrator at the moment  I use photoshop and its been amazing to create art in that software.
